Elegance Without Ostentation

Skipping Stone Sails the Carribbean Sea

"Skipping Stone glides through the water effortlessly; her heavy displacement and weighted centerboard give her comfort and stability underway or at anchor."

The Pearson 530 Skipping Stone is the consummate performance cruising yacht. With her powerful ketch rig, Skipping Stone glides through the water effortlessly; her heavy displacement and weighted centerboard give her comfort and stability underway or at anchor.

As roomy as the cockpit is, all sail handling controls are within easy reach. Electric main winches make sail handling fast, safe and easy. Because of its midships location, cockpit visibility is excellent especially for sightseeing and you can relax, protected from the elements by her dodger and bimini. Seating is comfortable whether you're passage making, socializing dockside or at anchor. A table unfolds to accommodate afternoon drinks and appetizers or meals on those balmy evenings.

The spacious, sunny, main salon has a minimum of 6' 4" headroom, and is lit by seven ports and two large overhead hatches. The interior is all wood and every bit of it is built by hand, the woods carefully chosen for the beauty of their grain.

Meals aboard Skipping Stone are generally simple affairs. Locally grown fruit, produce and fresh seafood are the mainstay of our meals. A hearty lobster carbonara prepared by Nikki, fresh dolphin, snapper, grouper (possibly caught on board) or lobster (subject to availability) everything is tasty and nutritious. For the adventurous, Captain Andrew's spicy chicken, pork or fresh fish curry, can raise the temperature in the cabin a few degrees. For those booking the Cruising Experience or Crewed Bareboat Sailing Adventures, bring your favorite recipes and cooking talents and see how well you cook when the "kitchen" moves!

An ample supply of seasonings, spices and condiments coupled with first cold pressed olive oil and a plethora of hot sauces should keep meals interesting and varied.

We supply filtered drinking water from our watermaker, (not bottled water), limited beverages and Nikki's rum punch aboard. Specialty beverages can be purchased ashore or requested at cost.
